A Skate-a-Thon to benefit Katy's Courage will be held at Buckskill Winter Club in Wainscott.
Registration fee is $20, $15 for children 16-years-old and under.
The Skate-a-thon is a family-fun event. A bake sale starts at noon and 20% of all admissions to the ice rink for the entire day will be donated to Katy's Courage.
Participants my start collecting pledges as soon as they receive the pledge sheets. (http://buckskillwinterclub.com/downloadable/sponsorship_form.pdf)Reminder: Pledge sheets need to be turned in on skate-a-thon day.
Pledges may be made by anyone and can be per lap or a set amount regardless of number of laps skated.
Each sponsor making a pledge should write their own name, pledge per lap, and maximum pledge or set pledge amount. Participants may collect the pledge in advance and must turn in all pledges collected.
The skate-a-thon will last for two hours. Each lap is approximately 1/10 mile. Each participant will be issued a ?lap tag,? each time the participant reaches the starting point, thereby keeping track of the number of laps completed.
Upon completion of the skate-a-thon, participants will hand in their lap tags. A volunteer will record each participant?s lap total on their pledge sheet and return it. Participants may then collect outstanding pledges. Please return pledge sheets with the money to Buckskill Winter Club by March 31st, 2012.
